Acrylamide

1. Properties: Acrylamide, abbreviated as AM, pure products is white crystal, soluble in water, methanol, alcohol, ethanol, acetone, slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, and chloroform, benzene. The molecule of Acrylamide has two active centres; both have reaction with light acid and light alkaline.
2. Usages: Acrylamide is used to make water-soluble high polymers which is employed in petroleum exploration, coal washing, papermaking, textile, sewage treatment, metallurgy, sugar refining, construction, pharmaceutical and agriculture, etc.
3. Storage, Transport & Attentions:

Acrylamide has medium toxicity, the permitted exposure for ordinary people max. is no more than 0.0005mg/Kg per day. Dose for rat is LD500.7g/Kg. Exposure to skin will cause poison. Symptoms are red spots, decortications, dizzy, movement function imbalance, feeling weak in four limbs, etc.
Attention should be paid to guarantee safety for human and animals. Avoid breathing in or exposing to skin.
Acrylamide is an unstable substance to heat and moisture. Avoid moisture and heat in storage and transport. Liquid state is liable to going sour. For 98% solid state, storage is less than 6 months at normal indoor temperature. As for liquid state, storage varies form 3 days to 3 months depending on polymerization stopper and conductance rate. It could also be effective if no self-polymer happens.
